One of my EEs have consistently been laying these eggs. She is one of last springs chicks. Eating Feather Fixer feed, fresh water available 24/7, oyster shell and grit available freely. She has also laid a few softies. She acts perfectly normal.

Her egg maker (shell gland) ain't right. Could be from a low grade bacterial or viral infection. Genetics also comes to mind. Occasionally an imbalance of calcium ratio in feed can cause this. Of course, with time and proper feed this may correct itself, or the hen will may develop an internal laying problem.

I think I saw something like that in this article. It might help to take a look:

:goodpost: Great article
Did you ever figure out why her eggs were like that?
Not sure, The OP stated that she was getting the protein she needs for nice, healthy looking eggs. Could be that she'd still sort of a new layer? Could maybe be an infection? Although again, the OP did say she was acting fine..

I was asking in regard to your hen that laid eggs similar to the OP’s chicken

The Feather Fixer I get at TS has a calcium content of 3.25-3.75%.
I’m not sure what the ideal ratio is but that seems like a lot to me.
I only use the Feather Fixer as a supplement/treat for my birds and I use either grower or all flock with oyster shell free choice as their main diet.
