What could be wrong with my sweet cuddles? I did not notice this earlier in the day, did it just happen or maybe I missed it somehow. She is acting totally normal, I have seen her drink water and she has eaten treats no problem. I haven’t personally seen her eat her crumbles today but now that I seen this at bedtime I’ll keep an extra eye on her. Should I be worried? When do I begin to worry? Is there a fix? I am able to open her mouth and move it side to side and for a brief second it looks normal but then off sets. She is 14 weeks if that matters. Is this considered cross beak? I’m trying not to google and coming to the pros as google gives me anxiety lol.

Maybe a case of minor cross beak? I don’t have any experience with it, and I’m not sure if it can develop as they get older … You said she’s acting normal. Can you check her crop at night to see if it’s full? If so, I’m guessing - so long as the beak doesn’t get worse - she’s probably okay. A full crop means she’s eating. Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in. Good luck!

Yup looks like a beak misalignment. You should see mine🤪-

Don’t worry so much. If she can eat and drink by herself she’s fine. My polish (Booboo) used to have it really bad and now it’s started to realign so yours could end up getting better in time.🤷🏽‍♀️ She’s 7 months old now so she’s getting older and growing so it could take yours some time. And she is like the biggest compared to all of her friends even too.

Thank you and for also sharing your pics. I’m glad to hear Booboo’s is attempting to fix itself. Your sweet looking one on the bottom picture, looks pretty severe does she do well on her own eating and drinking?

Yes. Her name is Shelly. She is three months old and is doing great. She weighs a ton!🤪 She drinks out of dip beak waterers and has figured out how to scoop feed (crumbles not pellets) into her beak. She wouldn’t be able to do pellets or any other types of waterers. All of my crossbeak babies go in with my polishes because that’s where Booboo lives so they already have all this stuff. I heard though that once crossbeak chicks get to about 3 months old their beaks stop getting worse and will just stay how they are. So hers shouldn’t get worse. She had such a hard life though! When she came to us she was trapped in a cup all shriveled up and was barely even breathing. Then she had a foot problem and now this. But she is a fighter and I love her.❤️

She’s the one that’s laying down. I had to force feed her for about 5 days! One. Piece. At. A. Time!🤪 I would even get up at 4 am to do it. She is my baby.❤️ Sorry didn’t mean to go into her whole story there.🤣
