whats wrong with his foot?

ok. I just noticed that this one isnt able to stand on its foot. It is curled under.

Any ideas what is wrong with it?
Sorry for all the newbie questions. I am just overwhelmed with all of this!

I have one right now that is unable to stand on both feet. He legs just wont go under him... It is very sad. I'm not quite sure what to do with him. I have to feed him by hand and give him water with a dropper. He just kinda flopps around on the ground with his wings and elbows. I feel so bad for him, but I can't bring myself to cull him, because his legs are his only problem. I hope your little guy pulls through and his foot gets better. Good luck!

Yes, it has all his toes.. Its really red on one of them though.. So you guys think I can save his foot??

I'm TOTALLY guessing, but maybe you could make a "splint" out of a popsicle stick?

Better to ask someone "who's been there". I haven't.

Okay - take a small piece of masking tape, flatten his toes out into their proper position, and stick them to the tape. Then, tape over the top. It's just stiff enough to "splint" his toes together. He'll walk a bit like a duck as he's getting used to it.
Is the leg giving him trouble, too, or just the toes?

thanks everyone!. It seems to be just his foot that is messing him up.. I cut a small piece of cardboard, roughly the size of his foot. then I put the sticky part of a band-aid on top. Poor thing. I feel so sad for it.. How long do you guys think I should work with it? Is this a lost cause?
