whats wrong with my chicken?

Hey all my chickens have been healthy since I inherited them with my house about 12 months ago. Until the other dayI noticed a problem around one of my chickens rectum. Any-one have any ideas on what the problem is?

It could be a number of things. The only way to tell what's going on is to wash it up in order to get a better look.
