The back of her comb looks almost burnt off. It is black and just kind of hanging there. This is probably the most color I've seen in her comb since I got her, but I've never noticed any black before. She has 6 week old chicks, and I think she's just getting over her broodiness. She's acting otherwise healthy.
Thanks for the help!

The burnt look is blood. Her comb is being pecked. Spray some blucoat on a qtip and apply it to her comb. You could also use pine tar mixed with vaseline but it stains worse

Ok, thank you!! I was wondering if it might be injury. That ole rooster is mean to those girls. I'll have to enlist some help. She is a gamefowl and super skidding. Ive never held her cuz she won't even let me get close

No problem. Just keep that in mind. When blood dries it looks either black or brown. Pecking will happen but if it gets out of control you need to interfere. I'm guessing here but since she refused to move because of the broodiness the other hens attacked her. It's not uncommon

Do you have any ide of where they nest I would remove him for at least till she is healed if he is that mean cull him
