What's wrong with my quail?

I'm sorry to hear she died.
Hard to say why she died unless you investigate further.
I'm keep providing them with oyster shell free choice, see that everyone is eating/drinking and see how is goes.

Yep, thanks. I am curious what it was, but in my state, the backyard bird necropsy fee at the only lab I can find is double what I originally paid for my entire flock of 6, so it doesn't make any sense. I'm not breeding or selling; they're more like pets. I will just continue to take the best care I can of the remaining birds.

Update: 5/6 birds in this flock eventually succumbed to unidentified illness with occasional diarrhea being the only objective symptom. I was fastidious about hygeine and offering free choice calcium. I turned off any supplemental lighting to give more rest. But by March 30, only one bird was left symptom free and she continues to look great as May has now begun. She molted for a good 5-6 weeks and then resumed daily laying. After a full month of being alone (which can't have been good for quail mental health), I gave the coop a thorough clean, a brand new sand bath, and even replaced the top inch of soil in the run, and purchased 6 new young hens from an NPIP/AI- certified breeder, and introductions went very well. Hoping for better outcomes from this group! 😬🤞
