What's wrong with our Barred Rocks?

The grains are part of the feed. I give them a handful of dried meal worms or soldier fly larva in their feed also.

What's the protein of the feed? I'd switch to a complete pelleted feed.

What's the white material on the feathers and skin - did you dust them with Poultry dust? Do you see lice or mites on them?

Pattern of feather loss is consistent with being mounted, observe your girls to see if one (or more) of the other hens are plucking at them and/or mounting them. This can happen sometimes.

You can put saddles on the Barred Rocks to help prevent feather loss and picking. Or if only one hen is picking at them and mounting them, put Pinless Peepers on the offender.

Feather loss will not be replaced until molt.
