What's wrong with their feathers?

OK you guys a new species has been found. I want one!

Ok I know they aren't a species, but I really do want one.

Does anyone have any idea what makes them weak hatchers? Any ideas?

Hopefully being bred to a regular AM will strengthen them, but so heartbreaking in the meantime they they don't have great hatches.

Do you think this could be due to shipping?

They are probably weak hatchers b/c they are too inbred. The point of outcrossing them is to increase vigor.

Of my F1s from kathy I think I have all girls.

Under normal circumstances that would make me happy, but for these purposes I need a roo!

If my F1 from Kathy is a boy, I'll trade you! I have my silkied roo already, so I'm hoping for the F1 to be a girl so I can cross them. For now, I'm pretty certain she's as girl too.

Kathy, your Silkied Roo got here safe and sound by 1 this afternoon. I will post pics later this week. He is gorgeous, happy and frisky!

I think one of my girls is finally laying so here's hoping to get some more soon. The eggs (if they are hers) aren't quite as chalky as the originals so I hope they hatch better. I don't have a broody right now darn it.

The eggs are still small anyway and I will need to wait another month or so to even try hatching any.
