What's wrong with this chicken's feet?

I found this link to scaly leg mites and it looks similar. If you treat it right away you may be able to cure her. I would slather her legs in vaseline right away and then treat with Ivermectin like the link says below.

Yes...that does look a bit like scaly leg mites. Get out the vasleline! Let us know what happens with her.

Umm, just my two cents, but it looks a lot like the outer layers of skin died and is now sloughing off, ie frost bite. I could be totally wrong, and that is actually extremely likely. When did this happen?

If your chicken can still walk I would try the vaseline; if not I would cull and put the poor thing out of it's misery. Good luck - keep us posted.

I doubt it's scaley legs.... more like the chicken has been standing in a pile of their own excrement for a long period of time. Amonia does that kind of damage.

clean the feet with a brush (I use a paint brush or soft tooth brush) with a chlorhexidine scrub... after a couple minutes soak and gentle scrub then rinse off and let air dry... apply the ivermectine (you can do this with a paintbrush) and let soak in... then dip leg/feet in baby oil (mineral oil) . repeat the chlorhexidine scrub (or other antibacterial soap/scrub) daily ... you may need to reapply the ivermectine after seven days. Two treatments have always been sufficient for me even with the worst cases.
