What's wrong with this chicken's feet?

Just an update....

I treated the hen with Ivermectin (as well as the rest of the birds I have - seven) and she is doing very well and running around like normal. Her legs and feet look much better and continue to heal. I would post a picture but the chickens are free range and I'm just too tired to catch her and take a photo!

SO happy to hear that. I would love to see pictures. Did you scrub them too as dlhunicorn said? I am just so happy for that poor baby.

No the chicken wasn't rescued....

What happens is that people will give my wife chickens for odd reasons, for example, they buy their kid a little chick because they are "cute" and when the chick grows up they don't want them anymore. When we got this one she was in good health so she must have contracted the problem from the ones we had - although no others shown signs of the problem.
