what's your favourite sort of incubator?

I agree with Miss Prissy. I have one and have had great hatches.

I will also add that if you can afford an R-com 20, there is nothing more stable and easy. I was able to score one and my first hatch is in it. I am so impressed so far. Everything stays perfectly constant and it turns the eggs once an hour. It is amazing.

I see Rcoms on Austraila ebay all the time!

I too have the Genesis 1588 with turner and LOVE IT!!!!!! I also have a Little Giant that works just fine and holds the same amount of eggs, but it's harder to regulate, and I have been burned on the heating element one too many times!!!!

Get the Genesis!!!!!!!!!

My favorite is the old Lyons Transparent Hen which I now have two of

. Hard to come by but faithful!!! Hatched out hundreds of chicks, 12 to 16 at a time......

I have a circulated air Hova Model 1583 with a turner that has worked perfect from the first day of taking it out of the box. Hatched 300 chicks in it so far this past year.

I have the Hovabator Genesis 1588 as well. LOVE IT!!!! It is so worth the money. I've had a really old round Hovabator and a regular square Hovabator brand new before. They were much more involved to stablize. I am so for the Genesis, it is hands free easy. Just plug it in, add water and eggs and let it go. I got the egg turner with mine.

I have a homemade bator for a hatcher right now.

In the $150 range the Genesis definately wins popular opinion polls.

If you want to spend around $500 you can get a Brinsea Octagon 20,
40, or Rcom20. I have the Octagon 40 and love it. I have a few Little
Giant sets(forced air with turners similiar to the Genesis) and love
those too.
