You must be living in a redhead deprived area. There are two in my house alone and I can't count the number of redhead cousins. Virginia has quite a few redheads as a good bit of Virginia was settled by the Scotch-Irish.

We go through a lot of SPF 60 in my family!

you sound like you look just like me! i have brown eyes and (NATURALLY) red hair, too! do you tan easily?

TWINS! LOL! No, I don't tan easily, I burn easily. I can get a tan but I have to really work at it. I've had one good tan in my life and I turned a beautiful copper color. But, it was waaay too much work - only 15 minutes at a time every day, etc. - so I quit worrying about being tan.

I just make-do with the freckles!

My brother was a red head up until he was 4. then it went to dirty blonde(kinda strange since the only blond in our family is my g-grandpa) and now its a brownish blond with NO red.

My sister on the otherhand, is despised by my mother. Rachel(known as DorothyBrahma on here) has Brown hair with streaks and ribbons of red, black and blonde. Theres a BIG red streak down her bangs and two blond stribes down the side of her hair. My mother was always scolded for "dying" a toddlers hair when Rachel was younger. Now, everybody LOVES her hair.

Oh, your sister's hair sounds beautiful! When my redhead son was born, the top of his head was blazing red but the sides were brown. I took him to the Dr's. office for one of his check-ups and a little kid came up to me and said "Lady, someone spilled red kool-aid in your baby's hair."

He ended up being a total redhead and my "baby" can now grow a fantastic red beard. Yikes! Where did those years go?

Sounds like you have the hair of my eldest daughter - she has medium brown with what we refer to as "red highlights". Really very pretty and it does look like you spent a bunch of money getting your hair colored. I've got a 7 month old grandson who may end up with that type hair. He looks to be bald but you get close to him and he's got just a wee bit of hair all over. In some lights it looks blond - other times it looks brown - but take a picture with flash or take him outside and it's red! Fingers crossed that we get another ginger in the family!
