Ended What's Your Hobby?—Official 2024 BYC Mini-Contest

You’re welcome! It is very impressive how well you stayed in the lines🤣 I used to color, but I just didn’t have the patience
It took me a couple hours to color it! I had to blend the colors together which was a learning experience for me 😅
I’m actually surprised I love to color so much because I have zero patience generally 🤣

I didn’t know those bloomed!

They definitely do! Quite beautiful too, in my somewhat biased opinion. The can either bloom white or yellow. I like white slightly more

Wow how beautiful, I never would’ve know! I’ve always wanted to get some but never have. Now that I know they bloom, I want some even more.

You totally should! They're not everyone's favourites, and they are slightly harder to care for than a typical succulent, but honestly as long as you stick to their seasons, they do great!

Entry 3: 4-H
My third hobby is 4-H. I absolutely adore 4-H. 4-H is so beneficial to young people. At a club level you learn how to run meetings and make decisions, and being a club officer such as treasurer you learn how to keep track of money. At a county level you can learn responsibilities with showing animals at the fair or learning new skills, such as crotcheting or baking to show at fair. Also at a county level you can go to camp and do countywide fundraising. At a state level you can go to art camps (for wisconsin they're in Wisconsin Dells) and meet people from all over the state. At a national level you can go on trips to places such as Washington DC and space camp (in Alabama I think?). There is alot more in 4-H though. I usually win awards for vegetables at the county fair. I am currently the photographer of the pine river rainbows.

I play board games.

I used to host a game night once a week, but I've since moved away from my game loving friends so most of my board gaming is either with my husband or solo play. I also take pictures of my poultry with some of my games and post them in a thread here, because I can't seem to resist an element of ridiculousness in the things I enjoy.

I used to be terrible at deciphering rulebooks and manuals, but because I owned most of the games we played I was forced to learn how to not only understand rulebooks, but to learn it to a degree that I would be effective at teaching it. This has been helpful outside of board gaming.

That is so adorable. I bought a game about poultry today, it would be so cute with real birds around it! Thanks for the idea
