What's your least favorite breed?

Mhhmm.... I have over 100 through out the years and never had a single mean one

I have an OEGB bantam and he's the nicest rooster I've ever had. Everyone is always scared of him because of his breed but he's actually very tollerable of everyone and he's never given me the stink eye

I have 3 OEGB roosters and they are very sweet to each other, people, and their hens. I dont really have a breed I dont like.

Silkies also get my vote..................... IMO they have as much brains as a box of hair LOL.

All other Foo-Foo breeds also make the list, breeds like Polish, Cochins, any Bantam, mille fluer deuccles, that one rolls off my tongue.

COCHINS ARW AMAZING!!!

Bovan Browns. Bought 70, they're down to 45% production at 14 months from point of lay. Look terrible, lots of missing feathers and really red butts. I have to toss 5 or 6 eggs of what I do get due to poor quality shells that break when I wash then (gently) They get 17% pellets, scratch and seed, oyster shell, ground flax seeds, fresh greens from the produce culls, always clean fresh water. Very flighty birds; no predators. No mites. Clean house. I'd appreciate any comments because I'm about to give them away to anyone who wants a few chickens wandering around and a few eggs... I've kept chickens for years, had hundreds of them but never had such a rum flock.

Crevecours(sp) and polish. Any I've ever had have been completly insane in the membrane ( insane in the brain). Sorry I couldn't help myself!

My father calls my Silver Laced Polish Sara Palin because she is so stupid.

So far out of all the breeds I have, I would have to say the white frizzle rooster is the MEANEST

hands down. He is all of 21 weeks and maybe 1 pound and he will try and whoop up on a full grown RIR rooster if I'd let him. He rips feathers off of other chicks and grabs combs and hangs on with all his might while the other chick is running for it's life. If I could get more than 3 chicken nuggets off the little guy, he would be supper. But instead I have had to seperate him and find him a home Friday. The sebrights are nice but flighty!!! Not very friendly at all. But I do have 2 Blue polish white crested that are warming up to us. They will come to us and eat from our hands but not quite ready for us to pick them up. But we do anyway. Not to dis the "frizzle". We do have a brown "red" frizzle hen that does not think she is a chicken but a puppy and begs for love and attention.

My RIR are no trouble at all. But my New Hampshire Red hens are tricky and sly but awesome!

We had 15 of them hatch this year and they were the fussiest, flightyish things. They made such a fuss when we feed and changed their waterers like we going to kill them.
Sad to say, we had sold some and gave some away to reduce and ended up losing our cockerel and 1 hen due to a fight with a Sumatra pullet and the heat. We now have 1 and she is nothing like she was. She has calmed down tremendously.

Why?
We have found them to be the sweetest birds. Such awesome character. They like people. We have 28 purebred Ameraucana chickens right now. 3 were bought at 3 or so months old and all other were eggs to chicks here on our property. Love them all.

5Leepy! :

I don't like my Ameraucana either. She's flighty and pretty aggressive with the other hens. I don't have a lot of experience but I REALLY don't like HER at all. Pretty sure the feeling is mutual. Plus, she's pretty clumsy and dumb. She literally falls out of the coop every morning because she can't figure out the ramp.

Is she an Ameraucana or an EE? My Ameraucana's are extremely sweet and they are very smart always figuring out how to get out. Ours will run right up to you and follow you around the yard. I don't know what kind you have but they do not sound like any Ameraucana's i have ever seen.
