What's your opinion on school hatching?

I just wanted to start up this thread for fun and See other people's opinions about hatching chicks at school. Why do you like it or don't agree with hatching them at school?

We did this in our elementary school. It was very enjoyable for me as a child...however...we did have a high rate of failure. I think of the 20 or so kids in our class only 3 chicks actually hatched. The teacher told us that that "didnt mean they wouldn't hatch...they just weren't ready". Im not sure if that was true or not. But it did make me feel like less of a bad chicken mama. The assignment was to care for them for a week at home and then bring them back. I think it would have been better if they were hatched in class in an incubator though

If it is hatched and brooded in class with a definite home before the project is off the ground (and a back up home also!) sounds like a good idea.
