next two pics are of a favorite young hen of mine sha is the slowest grower i thiought she was a bantee hopefully she will be a slow egg layer and ther gunna be dark because she is slow lol also heavy leg feathers

kathy my sister gave em yogart and mashed potatos lol and there takeing a bath in the dirt lol . i think the roos thought i was gunna bother them

Hi Maran people

I have five 2 week old French Wheatan Marans currently and I'm wondering if it is possible to tell what sex they are at this age? I ask as it appears that 3 chicks have very dark wing feathers, and 2 have very light coloured wing feathers and judging by the colours of the adult Marans - think i might have 3 boys and 2 girls? I can take photo's to show what I mean about the difference between the colour if that would help. By the way - I am addicted to Wheaties now and am just about to order another dozen eggs to put under the hen that has just gone broody!
