About 8 years having a closed flock. But still getting some cotton in tail on roos.

How is everyone faring in the cold, cold blast? My chickens are more mad about being penned up (deer season means there are hounds everywhere) than they are about the cold temperatures. They can see the grass on the other side of the wire and wonder why they can't get to it!

Mine are still not laying....

I was hoping the cool weather would trigger a switch or something.

Mine is not laying either. She's taking her sweet old time growing her feathers back in. My other Marans went broody again, so now all I'm getting is boring light brown eggs from the other hens. LOL

anyone have plans on how to build a nest box that the egg will roll away into a different compartment I have egg beaters in my flock I tried to hollow out some eggs and fill it with mustard and they loved it state the mustard and the eggs
