Has anyone on this board crossed a RHR Roo over a French Wheaten Maran Hen? I just hatched a batch of eggs and the chicks look just like FW Maran's.

If there is any experience with this cross - how do the hens turn out? Do the dark/spotted eggs carry forward?

This is a few days old (Looks a lot like a FW Maran):

Here they are at 2 weeks (although you can't see it in the photo - they do have feathered feet. The black is a red star but all the others are from the FW Maran):

The close up of her comb is not that great but she has ridges like a Maran and and an Andalusian.
