Wheaten and Blue wheaten Marans Discussion Thread

if anyone has a picture of a wheaten marans with no fluff in tail PLEASE POSTa picture or link !,i have been fallowing the threds for a few years and would love to see one

I've been told to keep the hens that are on the light side but still obviously with the distinct tri coloring. Can we talk about that a bit??

I don't believe that fluff has always been a problem with Marans as it seems to be more of a problem in wheaten Marans than any of the other colors.
IMO it is caused by something that has been mixed into that color that is causing weak or none existent tail coverts....a fault.

Hi,
Have you hatched eggs from the two hens? If so, do they both throw roosters with cotton fluff?

aww your to kind, thanks ,i am only a few generations into this ,it takes forever (10 months each ) the girls all kinda look the same so egg color is my bigest thing getting 4s or 5s i would guess but im only hatching 2nd gen right now
