well thank you i didnt candle and never do but mabe tomarrow evening il have a few chicks , started collecting eggs for next hatch in a few days and thats when the real hatching starts but i diont know about the fertility , i havent seen the big guy mounting the girls much . i use a light on a timer to give the girls some more daylight from 4 :00 to 8:00 pm with a light on a timer to get eggs comeing in The temperature in marans coop is 43 degrees and outside is around 25 i guess the insolation is working ,and there littler hot breath is putting out some heat.....Last year with out insulation was hard on the combs on the big davis roos this year is better.....
