Hello, I am new to this thread and am looking for Wheaten Marans eggs. Could someone tell me where a good place to purchase them is? Or, if there is anyone on here that has good stock and sells the egg. I am looking for the Cottage hill line. But, more importantly I am looking for just a good quality. I love the looks of the birds and the chocolate color is amazing. I would love to buy 12-18 hatching eggs if anyone has any. I am having a very hard time finding them.

I should have some mid august or early september davis lines & cotage hill mixed

now thats the best idea ever . go stright to the sorce. he is the very best. i started wirh 12 eggs
from him and some from bev davis over five years ago . like a dummy i trusted 6 eggs under a broody hen from davis lines and the hen messed up ans i got zero
i incubated the remaining 6 eggs and hatched only one roo from davis lines. and thats how i started. cottage hill hens and davis roo

Thanks Randy. Take your time on the eggs, I don't plan to hatch anything else until the fall. I even took my bator and put it in the garage so I wouldn't be tempted!

It is so darned hot here, and I still have 3 brooders full of chicks to get outside and sold.

Thanks Don, I love the feathering on her shanks and toes! I did check the webbing and other toes for any stray feathers, but no, she's good! I'm so tickled my one Wheatie is a pullet!!

i know this shouldn't be a complaint department but I need to vent my frustrations
but I am so sick and tired of people contacting me wanting to come by and by chicken a couple of phone calls a couple emails of wasted time
people want to come out saturday to pick up the chickens and 99.9 percent of the time they don't show up they have all kind of excuse is there dog is sick cat died 99 percent of the time they don't show up I'm not making any money selling a full grown marans hen for 20 bucks and then I schedule my day to wait around for people that don't show up I am sick of it. from now on people have to pay me a week ahead time and if they don't show up I keep your money

Absolutely do it. Ive already been doing that, for the most part. Actually I have meeting places where I sell chickens or eggs, since I really dont want people coming to my home who I dont know. The meeting place is 10 mins from my house, and 99 times out of 100, the people meeting me are coming from lots farther. I just tell them to call me when they are about 10 mins from the meeting place. If they dont call, then I know they arent coming.
