Why did you like your wheaten marans better than your cuckoo marans?Okay, so I only have wheaten marans now, I used o have cuckoo years ago but they have all since passed away. I prefer the wheaten marans much more though!

As you can see, they have some feathering on their feet but not majorly. I would offer you some of my maran eggs but you live in Idaho and I live in England so i dont know if the eggs would travel well going that distance.
I just thought their plumage was better and my wheaten marans lay more eggs but I think that is just down to the individual birds.Why did you like your wheaten marans better than your cuckoo marans?

@Bantambird she has a great looking Birchen Black and Blue .they lay dark eggs .Does anyone know about the other three though? I kinda want BIRCHEN marans![]()

Comparing eggs. One hen has a dark egg with an occasional bloom that harkens back to langshan, since they have some ancestry rooted in that breed, but most of my girls lay nice dark eggs. Some are heavily spotted, some are a smooth even dark.
Edit: I don't hatch the wierd bloom hens eggs, they are just interesting. You can see the dark color peeking out from the scratches in the bloom.
