Wheaton ameruacana chicks ALL BOYS!? :,(

I got what was left over from his batch from the week before instead of newborn chicks like He said and after I had drove that far , and I’m a big push over, I didn’t say anything and took the chicks he had mixed in with some black amerucanas. I don’t think I saw any other chicks. My husband was kinda dismayed I bought from this guy again. But I don’t have any other amerucanas available near me. I told him I ended up with all boys last and it was a long drive so if he is just tryin to get rid of boys I was hoping he’d have a little heart and at least give me one girl lol

I looked over the chicks again and on some of them the Black has a little brown in it so I’m hoping for some females. now that you say that 75% makes no sense now I think about it I definitely see now how that makes no sense lol he hatches in small batches as well.

Ah well I guess I will see in a few weeks. But seeing what a wheaten hen looks like online I don’t see why these chicks would have any black on their wing feathers if they’re female.

Wheaten females do have black through their primary wing feathers and tail. Some have a lot, and some have just a trace. It's not till the rest of the wing feathers start to come in, at about 2 to 3 weeks, that you will be able to see the difference between male and female. If you are still confused, wait till the chest feathers come in. Mostly black chest feathers is a sure indication of a cockerel.

Thank you both for your last two replies that really helps a ton even my hubby joined me in trying to find out markings in these Wheaton’s at an early age. All I found was a bunch of ppl saying their chick was ameruacana but it was actually EE so nothing helped until you two replied! I feel like I can rest a bit now and raise them without worrying about them automatically being males and wasteing 2 months raising them :)
I already keep one legbar rooster in an area I’m not zoned for and I’m trying to get enough hens for him so he doesn’t over mate my poor faverolle anymore.

Thank you all for your help!
