It looks like you could use pvc and add casters x4 then add sling with Velcro straps in the center leaving vent area open of course.

You could use a low frame with a sling- the frame just up to his wings- and take it off to sleep? Aargh, wish I could post a drawing!

Welcome to BYC. Have you tried supplementing his diet with Niacin ?

ducks often have leg problems when needing more Niacin in their diet. You can post on the Duck forum to find out out what source to use and how much. Some folks augment the diet with Brewer's yeast (source of niacin) but, I have no idea of the dosage.
