Hi, one of my 7-week old chicks, a Wyandotte, has started making a whistling sound when she breathes. I just noticed it today and don't think she was doing it yesterday. She has normal activity and I am not seeing other symptoms, but I wouldn't really even know what to look for. Any ideas?

I've had a couple chicks do that in the past. I would give it a day or two and see if it passes, but in the meantime, in case it's something respiratory, I've given all the chicks Poultry Cell water for a full day, then plain water for a day, then back to Poultry Cell water.

Most ailments chicks and chickens get, they can usually get past them in a few days, so hopefully yours will be fine with a vitamin boost.

Would nutridrench or the electrolyte/vitamin ,or I got from McMurray work? I don’t think I could get to a farm store until Wednesday because of my work schedule

I'd go with the Nutri-Drench then, only because I'm not familiar with the McMurray product. I'm sure theirs is good though.

Just to add - I don't see anything in her nostrils or beak, although again I don't really know what I'm looking for. I did notice she keeps her beak open most of the time.
Good idea to add the vitamins to the water.

If you can, get a video of what she sounds like. Upload Video to YouTube or you can use the BYC Gallery.

It may be that she's experiencing Stridor which is when you get a piece of debris, mucous, etc. stuck in the airway. This usually resolves on its own within a day.

I just ran down and took a quick video, and I'll try to insert it here.
