Wheezing chicken. Just a cold or something more serious?

One year old Leg Horn. Woke me up last night with her almost snoring-like breathing (Coop is right out side my window). Didn't think much of it last night, but today, she still has this raspy breathing and I'm a bit concerned. I know that hens can get cold like symptoms, but I also know that there are much more serious things to worry about. I am wondering if anyone has dealt with this wheezing before? She is eating and drinking with the rest of the flock and her poop appears normal. She isn't really acting sickly. Any ideas?

Does she have any other symptoms? Any drainage from nose or eyes? Sneezing? I have a couple right now who have cold symptoms, I am treating them with VetRx in hopes that it will help them. I also add ACV to their water. Any chance that you can quarantine her for a bit, til you find out what she has. I'm sure someone else will chime in and give you more ideas. Hope she gets better.

Thanks for the reply MaineGigi. She doesn't appear to have a runny nose or eye drainage and only has a little sneeze/cough/squeak about once an hour. I am gonna keep her in a little seperate run/coop till I find out what she's got. Thanks for the input.

Maybe pick up some VetRx at your local farm/feed store. It may do the trick if she has no other symptoms. This thread should be at the top again and hopefully someone more knowlegdeable can give you some better advice! Good luck!
