Wheezing? hen

hello all!
My black Australorp hen- 4 months old now- began breathing "noisily" about a month ago. It almost sounds like a cat purring in a way. She is in good health and is the leader of the flock but I am worried about her breathing. I cannot tell if she is wheezing or if it is something else. It is a very odd noise.

It sounds like she has a rattle, which is the start of a mild respiratory infection, you could give her shots of Tylan 50, and see if that helps.

@Poultrybreeder Thanks! will do. contagious? Seems she's had it for a bit and everyone else seems healthy

It is contagious, so I would keep her away from the others somehow until she is cured. Probably the reason the others haven't shown signs of it yet, is because she is the only hen with the rattle, I would watch the others, and see if they begin showing the same symptoms as her
