wheezing/singing chicken with intermittant squeak

My buff orpington just started a strange wheezing/singing with a squeak like she is trying to clear her throat. Has anyone any idea what is going on? She was crowing this morning but has not been laying for months. She never does over the winter months.

I took my hen to the vet with these same symptoms. She recommend Tylan which is a strong antibotic. After she died, I sent her to the University to find out why. She had pneumonia. Maybe you can get her medicated in time.
