Im certain sour crop gave her more gatorade .... she laying down .... i massaged her crop.... felt air bubbles she made a burp like sound and it smelled What do i do ?? 😢😢😢😢😢

Treatment for Sour Crop
Apple cider vinegar is an anti-fungal, and often avian vets will recommend it for cases of sour crop, since sour crop is basically a yeast infection. Oregano oil is a natural antibiotic that can be helpful as well.

I read somewhere that Monistat (the cream form) can help, too. I used it on my two week old chick last year who seemed to have sour crop (pretty sure she ingested a wood shaving flake that blocked her up a little 🙄). She recovered fully and is almost a year old now. I just fed her a little bit of the cream (a little more for an adult) once or twice a day for a few days (but I also ‘burped‘ her several times during the day (and night) - worked out the air bubbles, and withheld solid food for a few days, so not sure if it was just the Monistat or a combo of things that helped). I also used the regurgitation method successfully (though it should be a last resort because if the chicken accidentally breathes the fluid in, it can be very dangerous, even fatal). Good luck!

Let her rest a bit, then try to purge her again. I know, it’s super hard to do because you are so worried you’ll make it worse (and the very last thing I want to do is lead you in one direction and have it get worse 🥺). When my Alice had sour crop, I think I purged her three times in a row. Just make sure her head is facing downward and just get a bit out at a time so she can take a breath/rest in between without breathing it in. She may swallow some back down once you lift her back up again, so don’t be too alarmed if that happens - as long as she doesn’t breathe it in. I really hope I’m helping and not making it worse for you and her 😢. Also, did you check out any videos on how to do this? That’s how I learned. Anyway, the very best of luck to you!!
