For about 2 years now, I've known about BYC and similar chicken sites, and I was—dare I say— a very dedicated "non-member." :P I would look at BYC articles and threads passionately, trying to find information to fit whatever situation IIwas in. Well, needless to say, I finally caved in and sighed up. Thus, the title of this post.

I've had my own flock for about 4 years now. After moving, most of my original girls got picked off—whether it be from sickness or coyotes or whatnot. Only Bella, my skittish Australorp hen, is the remaining original. She's still laying an egg a day! *Cheers*

My very first experience with chickens was when I persuaded my aunt to let me adopt her brown bantum chick (I was probably 7 at the time— I've always loved animals!). She agreed. I lovely and creatively named it "Feathers." Sadly, I could not take Feathers home, but I loved that little speed rocket with all my little heart.

Since then, I've had all sorts of breeds: Welsummers, Buff Orpingtons, Delawares, Speckled Sussexes, and so many more! I've even upgraded to roosters, and my first clutch of feather-footed banty chicks are peeping under my Silkie hen as I write this!

Other than chickens, I am lucky to own my dog, 3 cats, and spontaneous hummingbirds! Although I love all my furries, the chicks hold a special place in my heart. ❤

Not much else to say, other then I'm glad to be here. It's a lot easier posting a thread and question with exactly what I need other than browsing for endless hours while my chickies wait on me. Hehe!

Left to right: Lucy, Houdini (yeah, guess why we named her that?), Rio, and Daisy.

My weird kitty, Finnegan (Finny, for short). He loves hair ties, as shown. :P
