When and how do you candle eggs?

I am getting six khaki eggs on 23rd through the 29th and I would like to know as much as posible at candling your eggs. Pics to if you have them thanks.

The first hatch I think I candled daily LOL but now I do it on day 3, 7, 14 and 18. It keeps me a little saner

Ducks get candled on 6, 10, 18, and lock down

Dark room, preferably a closet with no light leaking in. Hold eggs fat end up, place light (narrow torch/flash light) agaist fat end to illuminated the egg.
