Statement as of 4:23 AM CDT on April 29, 2011

... Winter Storm Watch upgraded to Winter Storm Warning... in
effect from 10 PM this evening to 10 PM CDT Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for snow and blowing snow... which is in effect from
10 PM this evening to 10 PM CDT Saturday. The Winter Storm Watch
is no longer in effect.

* Rain will begin mixing with snow in northwest and north central
North Dakota this evening... with precipitation becoming all snow
by midnight tonight.

* Travel will be hazardous due to snow covered roads and blowing
snow significantly reducing visibilities.

* 5 to 7 inches of snow is possible by Saturday evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow and blowing snow means that
visibilities will be limited due to a combination of falling and
blowing snow. Use caution when traveling... especially in open
areas.

I'm so sorry and I've been complaining about all the flippin rain. Guess we dont have it too bad. We've been lucky dodged all the tornados and your snow so I think I'll keep my mouth shut about our weather. Hope its doesnt get as bad as predicted.

I feel for you folks getting rained on... we did have a few sunny days this week that were absolutely gorgeous. Monday through Thursday we had 60's and one day with 70. Which we needed because the rivers are all flooding and there is a lot of overland flooding. We had 80 some inches of snow over the winter, and it all stayed until the spring thaw (which is almost done but there is still some snow in places).

Here is a map of ND roads... the red triangles show areas of broken pavement (which is pretty severe before they show it, not just potholes) and the blue triangles are water either on the road or up to the edge of the road. Gravel roads closed everywhere and look like they lead down into lakes. They are saying that even if they hire contractors, they don't think all of the damage will be fixed before summer is over. I have lived here for 21 years and have never seen it this bad. But at least the flood waters in my basement are receding... for now.

All of you with rain, storms, and tornados, please stay safe!

And Mahonri...

I haven't even started my plants yet!

Here we have a few nice days then a week of bad weather. I bought my chicks on March 1st sunny 70's for 2 days then guess what SNOW for 2 days. I lost my chicks to a dog attack, so got some new ones on April 11th really nice weather for a week. bam we get hit with cold weather again rain mixed with snow what is it with weather this year. I do have my garden planted and we are not getting into the freezing weather but still make up someone mine nice or cool. We could use some more rain here since a lot of farmers crops are dry so who ever is having rain send some to Kansas. This also saves me from watering my garden.
