One of my biggest reasons to have chickens is because I am an artist and I was buying way too many parrot feathers to paint on, and paying too much. I wanted a source of free feathers to paint on...and I found it in my beautiful girls. They are pets first, egg layers second and are giving me perfect canvases for my artwork. I also just wanted to know the answer to the age old question, "what came first, the chicken or the egg"!
