When can I eat my eggs again?!?

Recently one of my ducks got bumblefoot, I had treated it at home first.. cleaned it, vet wrap, Vetrimycin, 3x a day. I went out of town, the petsitter didn't really do what needed to be done so I took her into the vet.

The Dr. said it looked fine but gave me Tylan to give just to be on the safe side. He also said it would be fine to put it in the water and that it was okay if the other ducks and chickens drank it. I only put it in the water for one day, I didn't want to give it to the ones that didn't need it so I'm only syringing it to the duck itself now.

My question is, since the chickens drank the Tylan water and a few of them are laying eggs... how long should I wait until I can start eating the eggs again? I can't find it anywhere on the label as to how long the withhold period is?!

If they've already drank some of it, I would give them a full course, otherwise you run the risk of creating resistance in the bacteria that are normally within them but kept under control by their immune systems. Should those same bacteria get out of hand it will be harder to treat them.

As far as withdrawal, Tylan is not approved for egg layers so there is no approved withdrawal period, which is why you do not see one on the label.

I only put it in one of their hanging water buckets in the coop that usually only the ducks use (they're free range and have about 4 and a kiddie pool also) so I'm not really sure that the chickens got into it, I just wanted to be extra careful just in case they did.
