When can I move my chickens to the coop?

Yep. I tame them inside so I don’t have the endless problems so many people do.
I think problems happen when people dont go out and interact with them. I brood mine outside in the coop. But every time I go out there to check on them, check feed and water, ect I will pick them up 1 by 1 and check them out looking for any mites, lice, injuries. Right now I have 14 chickens and they come when I call, let me pick them up and inspect them, dont peck me, wait until I fill the feeder to eat. No problems. But definitely do what you want of course. Just couldnt imagine keeping chickens in my house, let alone until.theyre 4 months old.

I have 4 chicks that are 6 weeks old. Right now the temperatures are around 70 degrees but at night they drop to the 40s. Should I wait until I gets hotter? Or should I bring them in at night to but then in the brooder with the heat lamp?
I’d wait until it’s more like the 50s to have them outside all the time

Yep, yet Ive been around chickens all my life, never lose chicks or birds or have health issues like the thousands of people on here and tame them as pets. Plenty of room in my kitchen maids room. I think I will do it my way.

Whether mine are raised in the garage or out in the coop like last fall, I rarely pick up a chick or "tame" them. Funny, but mine always follow me around like a penny dog & jump up on their outdoor roosts to see me when I come near their run or get under my feet when I go in the run. Chicks are always outdoors by 6 weeks at the latest. To each their own.

First step: take away the heat lamp away when they are still indoors. (I assume indoors is warmer than 40 degrees.)

Then you can start putting them outdoors for the day, but maybe bring them inside again at night for the first few days. They can sleep in the brooder, with NO heat lamp (indoors being warmer than the 40 degrees outdoors.)

After they have a few days outside with nights inside, then try leaving them out at night.

For all of this, watch their behavior to know when they are ready for the next step. Huddling and frantic peeping often means cold, but sometimes it just means scared by something new (like darkness at night, or a big new place outside.) If they settle down within half an hour or so, they were just scared, not actually cold enough to need more heat.
