When can I put them outside?

My pullets are about 5 or 6 weeks old and are fully feathered. They have been spending daytime in their coop and I've been bringing them in at night, but when should I be able to leave them out all night? The temps at night average low 40s, mid 30s.

How many are there? They may gather and sleep together and keep each other warm, since they have all their feathers. When I move mine out, I usually put a heat lamp up for them for a few nights, just in case they want to get under it for extra warmth. If they don’t get under it, then they are warm enough.

They're ready. I know it's cold to you but they have feather coats on and you're providing shelter from wind and bad weather. They'll be fine.

I'd encourage you to merge them ASAP if they'll be housed together as adults. Chicks are just playing at the pecking order at this age so merging is usually a non-issue.

How much age gap is it? Would it be possible to move the younger ones' heat source to the coop so they can go too?
