I dated the first egg I set in the incubator, along with several others, but did not write it on the calendar. Now, I have this dilema... I appearently rubbed off the dates when rotating them! This will be my second hatch so I am not an old pro yet. What is the best advice. I have a date written down about how many of who's eggs were in the bator on the 28th of Dec. but, for the life of me I can not recall the date I set them. If I carefully check them for pips every day, and there are none, can I rotate a 1/4 turn? I can tell which ones are the furthest along.

Thanks for your help.

This is one of the reasons why staggered hatches are hard (eggs that are set on different days in the bator)

How many days apart do you think the eggs are ??

I think I set them in on the 18th of Dec., but not sure. As of this post, have a pip on the furthest developed egg! Will keep you posted...

yes, as soon as i saw the pip. the pip is kinda high on the small end of the egg. is that okay?

What did you up the hum to ?

Piping at the small end can be a problem, somtimes there is not enough room for them to turn in the egg so they can get out. I have helped a few that have done this (dont think about helping for at least 24+ hours) give it a chance to do it on its own.

Where the eggs on there side in the bator or a turner day 1-18 ??

You can turn eggs untill they pip. Do need to turn eggs after 18 days. No harm if you do, even the hen turn them untill they hatch.

In the bator on their side. Don't have a turner.
