My incubation project is right on schedule! Im planning on bringing my chickies to school for... i dont know, maybe 2 hours. When (what age) is it safe to take them out that long?
Thanks

It depends on whether you'd be able to keep them warm enough. New chicks need to be kept at a fairly high temperature (80-95*F), though they can withstand colder temperatures for short periods. If you are going to take them out for 2 hours, you'll have to make sure you keep them warm and make sure the classroom is warm enough (at least 80*F or thereabouts). If you can wait until they are 4-6 weeks old they'd be o.k. with lower temperatures for longer periods (60-70*F), so it may be better to wait until then.
