First cluch advise needed:

Hamish, my 11 week old Wyandotte baby, for the first time pecked me hard tonight, he is growing at a phenomenal rate. He is happily sharing with a his two sisters in thier broody box and has shown no signs of of being bossy....till tonight. He's very good and hasn't even made an attempt at a doodle-doo...yet

I have a free range country home set up for him (we can't keep him because of the neighbours!) and want to know when will be the best time?.

He will be the only young one in a brood of 18 hens and Hector my ex year old, who also was very gentle but noisy!

I don't want to let him go but that's the way of the world. Boo-hoo.

Advise much appreciated, Cheers.

Thanks for that C,

Yep he can certainly get out of the way, our Alpha 'Perching Bird' has trained him well to steer clear of grouchos!

Oh goody I can enjoy him for another couple of weeks - his tail feathers have really started to grow and colours coming on, I so love observing thier daily developments.
