How old do our chicks need to be before we start seeing eggs? Is there anything special we need to do for them to get them to start laying eggs?? right now they are using their nesting box and a perch and pooping inside of it!!!
Thanks for all your help! these are my first chickens!!

The nesting box pooping/sleeping thing is a common issue you kind of have to work at to get them to stop, otherwise they won't lay in it. . .

A chick should start laying eggs anywhere from 18-24 weeks old. Non-hatchery birds can start much later too though, but chances of you having them aren't too high.
