When can you feed chicks treats?

That's a great idea, having snack time at a specific time. My goat knows when it is 3:00 and tells me it's time for grain. Feeding the chicks a snack will help het them ready for mealtime when they are older.

He doesn't even know he's a goat. He sleeps in a kennel in the house, just like the dog. He gets baths and brushed and treats and love, just like all my pets. He spent one night outside last week and acted like I was abusing him. He has no idea how most goats live.

I have a Pomeranian that doesn't know he's a dog. He hates to be around other dogs. Going to the dog park or a dog parade is torture for him.

I knew a guy with a house silkie. It didn't know it was a chicken. There were dogs and cats in the house and it thought it was a cat.

I didn't know you could keep chickens in the house! Can they be trained to use litter or something?
These hens were my first attempt to have animals with a job, but I'd love to make pets out of them.

Anyway, I don't feed chicks treats until they're at least 2 weeks old. I start with a bit of dried oatmeal and grass cut up really small.

My chicks will be 4 weeks on Monday. I have been giving them lettuce, kale and broccoli as a treat and they love it. When they were about 2 weeks old, we gave them crickets. They LOVED them. Talk about the run and chase. Oh my! I gave them some oatmeal today, mixed reviews. I also gave them some millet and they loved it. They don't seem to crazy about mealworms though. Go figure.
