When checking eggs you are cooking....

I can barely see the difference without a magnifying glass and a flashlight.
However, I'm old.
Sorry, I have no pictures but I think a thread or article is a good idea.

went and grabbed the 20yo digital camera with macro mode.
 
Sometimes an egg can be too dried out or dehydrated. This can make them unappealing too. If there is any brown color or foul smell, this could be an indication of contamination through the membrane. I have never had more developement than a blood spot which is a part of the whole "fresh eggs" thing and should be expected.
