When did aggression start?

when did you first notice aggression or males attacking (or even females) each other? Just trying to get an idea when I should be preparing to move the males out... yes... dragging my feet because I love them all!!! And my boys have such fun personalities.. one just loves to crow at me when I sit in with them and talk to them... have no idea if he is mad at me and just wants me just to go away or is just talking to me

Not sure yet... the jumbo browns are easy because of color.. I have 4 males and 1 female of those and 3 recessive white that I have no clue of... they are almost 5 weeks old.. so will have to vent check soon

yes must get the males you know out 4 to one they will kill her fighting for her

I have a 50/50 split of roos to pullets right now, they're 9 weeks. The boys will spar with each other but could care less about the pullets because they're not anywhere near laying. Keep an eye on them and see how serious they are, you'll know when it's time. Best before any pullets begin laying though. By 14 weeks or so, give or take depending on behavior. If you think the fights are becoming serious then separate them earlier.

Yup, fighting and crowing starts at 5-6 weeks, becomes nearly unbearable by 10-12.

Just smack me Yes, quail can be mean little boogers to each other. I didn't have terrible fights but the crowing drove me nuts and the girls wouldn't lay until I thinned the boys out. Sorry about that.

Well today it is 111 deg currently... so no one wants to antagonize one another.. lol.. I will definitely keep an eye on them.. I just like to hang out with them anyway ... and try and decide which boys to move out... I’m hoping they can just be chill ... not concerned about egg laying... I just love all their little personality’s .... but keeping an eye will help be identify any possible ass birds... then easy to kick em out!
I just wasn’t sure when to keep a closer eye.. when to expect. So being they are almost 5 weeks.. I guess that time is now
