When did your chicken start laying?

I have an OE and she started laying at 19 weeks and 4 days... I thought that they are supposed to lay later than most other breeds She was hatched on 11/27/18

I have 2 Red Sex Links that hatched exactly a week after this chicken and they have zero signs that they will be laying anytime soon!

When has your chicken laid it's first egg and what breed?

My Rhode Island Red laid her first at 25 weeks, Black Australorp at 21 weeks, Amerucana at almost 9 months old. But my Amerucana probally only went so long because winter set in, her first egg was in January.

I got her from a local breeder. She was with 3 others, but they turned out to be roosters.

After they had made me fully NUTZ from waiting.

The good news is they always lay in the end. And when you have a mixed flock of older girls and newbies, you won't even notice how long it takes 'cause you'll be collecting the big girls' eggs every day.
