When do bobwhites start laying?

My bobwhites are 8 weeks old. When will they start laying? Also I have males in there too. Can I eat the fertilized eggs if I check for eggs twice a day?

Do I need nesting boxes for them to lay or will they just lay in a cornor?

Bobwhites take 5 to 6 months to start laying.

No nest box needed. You can eat fertilized eggs, we do and we only check for eggs once a day.
