I can't recall... I think I read that they tend to start the crowing thing a bit later than other breeds... is this true?

Would you think it would happen around 4 mos? or earlier?

mine started aT 16 weeks. But he was the only roo I had at the time. I have a 18 weekrs who is a chicken poop-the lavendar silkie rules that coop and crows up a storm-the BO roo hides hahaha He's 4x his size now too!

Somewhere around 12 weeks they will start making weird noises. Around 16 they get better. By 20 they are pro's.

Mine is 19wks and has not started yet although this week he is interested in the ladies, trying to mount them. He is making some weird noises and flapping his wings alot. But No Crowing :-( I have a Silver Silkie Roo maybe he doesnt yet because of that. I also have neighbors down the way and you can here there Roo crowing.

I cant wait for him too!

I've got 2, both almost 13 weeks. One has been crowing - or at least flapping his wings about, stretching his neck out and making appalling noises in the morning - for nearly a month. Haven't heard a word from the other one yet. The one that "crows", although it did not seem so until recently, is turning out to be top roo. At least he has begun to chase the other roo away from the girls, fluffing his neck feathers and making threatening gestures with his non-existent spurs.

so mine are 11 weeks old... so I still have some time yet! I really think this guy is a rooster..
