When do chickens get old?

    I've never had an "old" chicken. When do they get old? I know for me, dogs over 8 are old. Cats over 10 are old, chickens over ___ are old.

    Wiki says 7-15 years avg lifespan. So take it from there.

    My older brother who has raised chickens for over 30 years says if you are talking eggs. They are OLD at 2.5 years and it's time to process and pressure cook them and use them in soup and stew.
