To be more specific about that topic, i know 18 weeks is when you switch them over to layer feed, but some chickens are different like my marans and Brahma, they started laying at 27 weeks which i assume is because of the large size of the Brahma and the marans lay such dark eggs, but is it all the same. So i have two more chickens that have yet to start laying, i dont expect them too for a week or two, but does anybody know what range of weeks they start laying. So i have an ameracauna and a Rhode Island Red, doe they lay later then normal or should they start after a few days on layer feed. They just turned 18 weeks today. And i have gotten different answers from different people about my guinea. She is also 28 weeks today and i hear my laying season here in north east Florida is almost over so she might start laying, but most people say not till next laying season for her. What is her laying season i have never gotten a straight answer about that. Will her laying decrease because she is not with other guinea fowl. Thanks for any responses
