When do chickens start laying

What week do chickens start laying eggs? My chickens are 15 weeks old. What week is the earliest and what week would be the latest? I have 5 RIR, 2 Buff Orpingtons, and 3 Barred Rocks. Do I need to put golf balls in the nest or some other type of fake eggs? The chickens are from the local feed store, so not sure if they are production RIR.

My RR just started laying last saturday,there 6 1/2 months old.

I have a golf ball in there nest.

Normal about 20 weeks some 18wks some 36wks, it just depends on the hen. Golf balls/fake eggs help them know where to lay so most people have a couple to encourage them to lay in the nestboxes.
