Can someone help me? I have eggs in the incubator, 9 have hatched out, I still have 19 in. I am 3 days past hatching date and it has been 24 hours from the last activity in the bator. Hatched ones are safe in brooder, looking all cute and fluffy! Question is when do I call it quits on the remaining 19? I dont want to give up to soon but, I dont want to wait for nothing? How do I tell?

If you are on day 24, then you probably are done, I'd take them out in the morning and clean the bator.

I used to do eggtopsies, but it got to depressing for me.

Enjoy those chicks you got!!!... and congratulations on hatching them out!

Candle them. You will see all dark eggs with an air cell on top. Tap on the eggs and see if you hear peeping or see movement.

I leave them in for up to 5 days after the first possible day they could hatch. usually 3 days after the last one is done, my dh makes fun of me because I find it too hard to throw the eggs away (just in case right) so I make him do it. Congrats on your new babies!

Edited to say: try the water trick, it worked for my last ones
